Greetings.

As you know from the California newsletters, prices are up and so is freight, due to a variety of factors.

This year's prices, including freight, are about 20% higher than last year, which is a significant jump. It's significantly more than the general rate of inflation in the country now, but we are stuck with it. Fortunately, we only buy grapes and juice once a year.

We have moved the ordering cycle earlier to avoid the problem of the last two years, which was that our order deadline was too close to our shipping date and some grapes were not available on that short of notice. This year, we are ordering earlier and Delta will be able to hold grapes for our order.

Same old drill - print the form, fill out the form, mail the form and the check to Jim. Next year we should have a web-based ordering system, but it did not happen in time for this year.

Dates:
Monday August 30 - all orders need to be to Jim
Saturday October 2 - distribution date

The October 2 date should be good.
We should know by September 15 the date certain.

Pickup times are based on when orders reach me. The earlier your order is received, the earlier your pickup time will be.
